Easter Concerts 2019

For Easter 2019, we were pleased to present two concerts for charity:

Tuesday 9 April, at Christ Church, Baschurch, in aid of The Harry Johnson Trust (Reg. Charity No. 1159126).  On Tuesday 4 June, Sally Johnson of the charity, came along to our rehearsal to tell us a little about the charity and to receive our donation cheque of £520.  Sally’s son Harry died in 2014 at the age of seven, from Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.  Sally explained how they had decided to set the charity up in Harry’s name to help other families.  The charity operates with minimal costs, so every penny donated goes straight to the people who need it.  Sally described how the money donated will help to make things a little easier for Shropshire children going through cancer treatment and their families.  Brian Goodwin, current choir chairman and father to Sally and grandfather to Harry, presented Sally with our cheque.  You can find out more about the charity by clicking here:   The Harry Johnson Trust website

Sunday 14 April (Palm Sunday), at Christ Church, Oxon, Shrewsbury, in aid of Shropshire Mind (Reg. Charity No. 1003117).  On Tuesday 14 May, we were delighted to welcome Shropshire Mind Assistant Manager, Kate Donegan, to our rehearsal to receive our donation cheque of £520.  Shropshire Mind has been providing support and services to people affected by mental health issues, since the 1970’s.  You can find out more about their work by clicking here:  Shropshire Mind website
