Christmas 2017

We started our Christmas season by singing at Morris Care Centre, Wrekin Court, Wellington, when residents listened to an afternoon of carols along with their families.

This followed on with another beautiful Christmas concert held at, our now regular venue, St George’s Church, Frankwell, Shrewsbury on Tuesday 12th December.

Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit was our chosen main piece, challenging, but the choir managed to do justice to it, and it was brought to life and enhanced by our now special accompanying Meole Brace mini chamber orchestra.  Soloists from our own ranks did splendidly well for us yet again.  Despite the snowy conditions on the night, we had a very good turn out. Our chosen charity was Signal, the Shropshire-based charity, supporting people with deafness and hearing impairments here in Shropshire and in Africa.

We raised a grand total of £600, through ticket sales and a very successful raffle.

The money will go directly towards supporting Signal’s UK work via the drop-in centre at Signal; The Hub in the Riverside Centre in Shrewsbury.
